Portrait sculpture is where I started my sculpture career and the technical aspect of capturing a sculptural likeness continues to absorb and fascinate me. To encapsulate the spirit of a sitter has an unnerving dynamic when producing a sculpture, which travels far beyond the boundaries of photographic imagery. Seeing my clients react to a sculpture in progress somehow adds to the story, heightening the identity of the sculpture itself.
I love sculpting portrait sculpture, the complete process is enormous fun and because you are concentrating on only the face it is both swift and rewarding.
